Coral Reefs Conservation

501(c)(3) public charity · Since 2018

Reefs are ecosystems, not scenery.

We are a small marine conservation nonprofit based in the Florida Keys, focused on coral reef restoration, water quality monitoring, and public education. Our field team grows staghorn and elkhorn coral in underwater nurseries, outplants them onto degraded reef sites, and tracks their survival over years.

What we do

Foster homes, not kennels.

Animals waiting on adoption with us sleep in real beds, get used to kids and other pets, and arrive at their new family with a behavior profile built over weeks, not a label stuck to a crate.

Coral Nursery Program

Two offshore nurseries holding over 1,200 coral fragments. Monthly maintenance dives to clean, measure, and prune.

Outplanting

Seasonal outplanting dives transferring nursery-grown coral to degraded reef sites. 3,400 corals outplanted to date, with survival tracked over five years.

Water Quality Monitoring

Weekly samples at twelve stations in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, published to a public dashboard. Data supports NOAA and local agencies.

Every dollar moves an animal closer to home.

Our budget is public. Over 91% of donations go directly to animal care, not overhead or fundraising.
